on Wednesday morning we helped an investigator build a chicken coop so we could finish by sunday and go to church. it was about 102 degrees. you can imagine how much sunscreen i used. we used scrap peaces of metal and wood but it looked pretty sweet.
on thursday we had a meeting with the mission doctor and the pres. in the morning. then a bunch of lessons. i think i went up and down the mountain like 5 times and i was ready to fall over after that, thankfully i have been sent to the nicest people ever. every time we walk into a house they give us a bunch of water haha. they think were crazy haha they all say " are you crazy it 40 degrees out side!" 40 degrees is about 100 degrees F. but we rock the umbrellas like a couple of jehovahs witnesses haha. i find myself asking my companion a lot " why do people live here" but he never has an answer.
on saturday we taught a less active lady of about 30 years. we had taught her before and her and her husband love listening. on Saturday when we got their a bunch of people showed up and dressed up like it was sunday! we thought it was awesome but also a little nervous . it went really well and then next day a bunch came to church.
sunday at 7 we hiked up the mountain in our suits to bring a less active kid to church but when we got to his house he told us he didnt wanna go. we werent the happiest with him but thats how the missionary life is haha. we had a big turn out on sunday which was awesome. after we got invited to a fathers day party by one of our investigators. after we ate we decided to drop by. they said we couldnt leave without eating. we were full but we couldnt pass up free food. but then they gave me something i now have to add to the "crazy stuff i have to force down my throat without gagging because if i do i will offened them and the wont get baptized" list. it was this soup call pozole and i love it but this time it had this massive , hairy (im not kidding it literally had hair) soggy ,wrinkly goofy smelling , did i say massive cow tongue. maybe, just maybe had my stomach been empty and i had mentally prepared or maybe just not have know what it was i possibly could have maybe hacked it down but this time i just could not defeat the soggy tongue. i took two bites and sadly apologized and told them that i just cannot finish it. thankfully they understood that i am a wimpy little gringo. However my gringo comp ate it like a champ. he was even sucking on the bones after. after he told me the trick is the salsa, you have to burn your tongue so you dont feel the other tongue haha.
today in the morning we went to this place called locos cocos. they give you a coconut and u drink the milk, then they take the fruit part chop it up and put it with other fruits and chili and peanuts. it was pretty freaking good. then we went and rented bikes and drove up the beach. i love it here its super pretty!
hope every one has a great week!
