this week has been awesome! i love my new comp. hes super obedient and wants to work just as hard as me. my area is huge! my comps been here one transfer mas and he still hasn't been every where. when i heard la paz i though id be going to a city but im on the outskirts and its pretty awesome. my area has a big mountain in the middle i climb, and i mean climb everyday! on the mountain everyone lives in these little cement shacks but they are all super nice! on the other side of the mountain we have this valley full of shacks made of old metal and wood pallets. i never new people lived like this. it was shocking and i felt so bad but the majority of the people their are super humble and nice. the streets are pure sand. its so hot here we use umbrellas and sun screen. i still get burnt....
on tuesday i had this pretty amazing experience but plz dont think im boasting im just really grateful for the experience. so we were walking and my comp asks this old man if he wants help with this heavy bag. he says to us "o no you guys dont wanna help me im a bad person" he told us his name is Jesus and we helped him with the bag. i felt this impression to give my testimony that Christ changes people and we could help him learn how. at first he was really unsure but then he started to cry and i couldn't understand what he was exactly saying but i understood that he said that beer had ruined his life and he felt like he couldn't fix it. i told him that any one can change and be a better person if they want to and if they invite Christ in their lives. i told him and i really felt that god put us in his path that day to help him. he asked my comp if what i said was true. my comp also testified and asked him when we could come over and help him. he gave us a time and his direction and we went our way. after i asked my comp what he was talking about to understand everything, my comp told me that he was going to hang him self but after i bore my testimony he changed his mind. i realized that the spirit helped me to understand just enough and gave me the thoughts to help this man out. i still dont know what to think but im just so grateful for the Savior using me as an instrument to help this man out a little. the hard part is the directions he gave us are wrong because he doesnt live there. i look for him in the streets and pray one day i find him. i hope i wasnt to boasty i just thought id share that with you.
on friday pres velez and the new senvety came and spoke to us. the seventy didnt prepare anything he just got up their shared his thoughts then did q&a. it was really powerful and i learned a lot.
sunday i had to give a talk. i didnt really enjoy it but i got it done and i think the people under stood.
today our water wasnt working so we had to figure that out. then got our hair cuts. the lady cutting my hair said i have like 5 diffrent hair colors. the side is black and curly ( like dads haha) the top is red and the front i put up is super blond haha. then we ate with a member and they were super nice and started giving us food to take home haha.
