so tuesday and Wednesday we worked like normal, thursday i went on splits to a little town with elder Soto (hes from logan!). it was pretty fun , i felt like i was in escuinapa agian haha. we taught a lesson that lasted like almost 2 hours and all i did was ask the people we were teaching how they gained faith in Christ and each on of them took about 30 mins! normaly i would have tried to get them to stop talking but each one of them had some rough story's and you could really feel they believed in Him, so after we decided to share james 1:2-5 wich talks about faith, patience and prayer, three things that helps us get through our daily problems we have.
friday i added a new food to the list of weird things you only eat in mexico ;which includes but not all: cow head, cow tounge, raw fish and shrimp, iguana, squid, turtle and now bunny!!! thats right bunny! thankfully i didnt ask before hahah i thought it was marlin but then my comp says "i love bunny meat!" hahahah i thought he was kidding but the sister who made it was all " o ya its cheap this time of year" hahaha
Saturday was a little tough, we have an investigator named A whos super awesome, hes had a pretty rough life because he has a kister ?? i think is what its called, in his head which makes him act a little different, he get supper nervous all the time and its really hard for him to learn and make decisions. we've been working with him my whole time here and saturday he was supposed to be baptized. that morning we got every thing ready but when went to his house he decided he didnt want to be baptized that day, we said a prayer and my companion and i felt that he could be baptized if he wanted to so we shared so scriptures with him in 2 nefi 31 and alma 7, we testified that this was what god wanted, i could really feel the spirit but in the end alons said no and we had to accept it, after we went the church to tell everyone there wasn't gonna be a baptism. i was talking with my comp after, we weren't angry or bummed, just a little sad that A didnt want too but we hope maybe in a couple of weeks he will.
sunday was pretty good! not much happened
today we went to the aquarium! it was pretty cool ill send you guys pics and i bought a soccer jersey from culiacan!
nothing much happened this week other than i gave a 20 min talk on accident cuz my comp told me to try and talk a lot but the guy who was suppose to talk after is now angry with me and today was changes so from 630 to just now i've been running mazatlan getting everyone settled in nervous for them cavs!
alright i guess ill give yall a rundown of this week, ive done this so many times hahah i feel like i right the same stuff every week haha sorry!
tuesday we went out to work, we had like 8 appointments so we were just running the whole day haha but we taught a lot of people!
the areas the biggest in the mission and i only had a change to learn it so its gonna be a little rough but will see how it goes! we have a couple investigators that look promising so i hope we can get some people wet with authority!! (baptisms)
wednesay we had our district meeting then we went to eat, but when we got there he sister who was gona give us food wasnt there. so we went and asked another sister if she could give us some food and she was super nice and gave us some mole and it was the first time ever that i like mole!! mole is chicken and rice with a spicy chocolate sauce. then we had this lesson for like an hour and a half cuz the sister were teaching has a like a billion questions which is fun to answer but it gets exhausting and she get pretty deep hhaha.
thursday we had a pretty normal daay!
on fridays we do activity's in the church with the ward but its super hard to get people to come. we share a message and then play sports and show church movies. its kinda sad cuz no one comes but were gonna keep trying
we also had our interview with a girl we've been teaching for her baptism and she is awesome and super smart, her mom was inactive and so were reactivating her mom too, but in the activity our bishop told us (even though we told him last week and he announced it in church) we couldn't have the baptism cuz there was a stake activity so we have to wait another week...
saturday we had a ok day, i was a little sick cuz on friday we ate some sort of mystery meat, the sister that made it told us it was like the meat by the heart of a cow. so that kinda messed up my stomach but by the end of the day i was feeling better haha.
sunday was fun! in the morning we brought some investigators to church, its a family of three, the mom G and her kids M the daughter and K her son, there really awesome but there going through some tough times, the dad left and hermana G doesn't have a job to pay rent or for food and so were trying to help her out, and shes been accepting the gospel pretty well! but when we got to the church the counselor asked us to speak haha yes again hahah i had to speak! two weeks in a row hahahaha so we ran to the house cuz my comp had a talk in the house, then ran back. thankfully i only had to speak for a couple of mins! but it was a little rough. then we taught gospel principals class too hahah.
today we had a mini multi zone meeting to say good bye to pres velez then a sister from my first area ( the sister who comes looking for me) invited us to eat choreadas (my favorte food) with the elders that are there! it was pretty good! and i got to here how all the member are doing too!
one thing i learned this week is this is really the only church (the church of the lord) were we can receive a true testimony of all the truths god has reveled and so im grateful to truly say i know God lives and he sent his son to save us all, that through the covenants restored by joseph smith we can truly be saved by Jesus Christ! and that we can truly find happiness in the commandments he has given us, in the name of JesuCristo amen.
