July 27th:

We may have the cleanest house in mexico thanks to my comp Elder Clean (Day).I do joke about how hes a clean freak but im learning a lot from him. Hes incredibly smart and hes about 6'6''.

Tuesday and Wednesday we spent the mornings Extreme cleaning. I almost past out from the smell of the chlorine and 100s of other cleaning products. thankfully in the afternoon we work hard. My companions spanish is perfect and hes only been in the mission for about 3 more weeks than me. its funny , every time i say something he corrects me. it gets a little annoying but i learn a lot.

in our district we have two sisters and one of them who just got here got this sickness called dangy or algo. its pretty bad and they couldnt work this week but shes doing better. the district wanted to help them out so we went contacting in their area on friday. after we ate with a member and we had Little Ceasers!!!!! it was freaking amazing!

its been raining a lot this week too! its been really nice to work in the rain and a lot of people feel bad for us and let us come in haha.

Today we woke up, cleaned for 5 hours ( and "were still not done" haha) washed my  clothes. then the highlight of my day. we went to this supermarket called chedroii or somthing like that. its got pure american stuff! Before we went in my companion suggested that we buy together because he didnt have a lot of money because hes waiting for rembursales, which happens sometimes so i agreed (this was a mistake). i was going in with the intention of buying bread, jelly and a couple other things.  as we were buying, my companion found the cleaning supply isle and he was like me in the nike outlet or a kid in the candy store haha we have this thing in the mission that all cleaning supplies are reimbursable ,and this only feeds mi compas addiction.he bought so much stuff, even this  acid stuff, i dont even know what its for. then i found out hes also a cook. he bought so much food too haha. then i saw something i hadnt seen in almost 10 months, Mountain Dew!! it was a little expensive but it was worth it haha. when we finished the gran total was almost more than what we had, and i brought all my money haha. thankfully hes gonna pay me back but for the time being we're broke haha. it was pretty funny he was a little embarrassed when he saw most of it was his.

July 20th:

Had a really good week!
This week we kinda started from scratch (since we had focused a lot on Jesus and Angela) but thankfully were blessed to find some new investigators! Both of our new converts are super excited to share the gospel with every one. we started teaching two of their neighbors and some one else on their street.

On Thursday for lunch we were fed sardines. i also found out i dont like sardines. how ever my companion loves sardines so he ate most of them haha. but that night he started to get a stomach ache. he suffered through the night and the next day we didnt go out to work till later that night. He pretty much slept the whole day and i studied the scriptures, and fell asleep a couple of times. but i finished 3 nephi and 4 nephi and 10 sections of D&C. that night we got invited to a Family home evening in the sisters area. they promised brownies so we had no choice.

Saturday was cambios (changes) and Elder gates and I really weren't expecting a change since hes only been their for 2 changes and i haven't had a consistent companion in 4 changes( which is kinda un heard of). I go through companions like the Browns go through QBs and coaches. and this time once again i lost my companion. He got sent to Los Cabos so hes not suffering to much. im receiving an Elder Day. hes like 6 foot 4 and hes from oregon. he has about one more month than me but his spanish is amazing. as soon as we got to the house the first thing he did before he even unpacked was deep clean the house. i thought the house was alright but he had us clean pretty hard haha,

im a little nervous because i have too teach him the area but the areas huge and i haven't even been to all the parts but well see how it goes!

funny story: this week we were talking with this lady and she kept asking us weird questions about space and stuff as if we knew. then she told us she had a job offer in california and she didnt know if she should take it cuz she needs a job but also she would have to leave her kids with her boyfriend and all these other problems. as i sat i thought to myself " im 19 years old, i think ive been to disneyland more times than ive seen my parents fight and i get nervous when someone asks me my favorite color, why is this women asking me for advice. i learned that first the spirit must be real because no one asks 19 year guys big life decisions (im not oprah) and also i have had a very blessed life. so i just wanna say thanks you guys for every thing!!!!!!!!!i can honestly say ive had the best childhood ever!

(Mom's reaction: a few tears and a lot of gratitude! What a great kid he is. Love this young man! :))

good week in the peace land.
tuesday to satuday was committed to preparing for the baptism. not the easiest thing but we pushed through.

on wednesday we were helping a family put a tarp on their house so they could have a roof, I'm not kidding their was only one room in the whole tiny house that had a roof. and as we were putting it up we found a scorpion! it was tiny but it was still kinda scary. the brother we were helping cut off the stinger and let it crawl around on his hand. i thought to myself i might never get a chance to have a scorpion on my hand so i told him to hand it over haha. pretty freaky but i got some pictures.

saturday we had a zone meeting in the morning then we cleaned the baptismal font. i lost rock paper scissors and got the awesome job of cleaning the cockroaches out. then we had the baptism. Jesus y Angela invited everyone they knew and half the ward came, my comp and i were pretty nervous but we both got it done in one try. after Jesus y Angela were really happy and they said they felt different. it was a really cool experience helping them to be baptized. on Sunday they were confirmed.

today we went and ate pizza and slept because we've been a little worn out haha.

this week has been a big spiritual experience for me especially seeing Jesus y Angela's  faces brighten up after their baptism and their desire to come unto Christ .I've loved being out here and this just makes me wanna work harder. i honestly can say i know i wouldn't have learned the things I've learned without the mission spiritually, mentally and physically. a couple weeks ago dad sent me a quote " yes, Christ changes people, and changed people can change the world" - Ezra Taft Benson.  i know that right now Christ is changing me to be a better person. I know without a doubt this is his church and i hope i can help at least one more person to come unto Christ and have a  happier life with reason and hope.

i might be in mexico but Im American dangit bobby!

this week my american comp and i decided that it was going to be independence week! we wore red and blue ties and spoke in southern accents. the members told us they think the heats getting to our minds.

well Wednesday we got some awesome news. two of our investigators told us they want to be baptized. their names are J and A. they are super awesome people. our goal has been to help sister A to quit smoking. at first i was a little unsure but she has had the determination to do it. she had us buy marshmallows and its been working haha. on sunday they both bore their testimony's and it was really powerful! they will be baptized on the 11th! thankfully we've had a lot of work! we never have enough time in the day and i swear we walk 10 miles a day. the bottom of one of my shoes fell off and i had to glue it back on haha then my comps back pack broke on the same day. thankfully he had another at the house.

this week we also had a lot of drunk people stop us haha. people say some pretty crazy things to us. i dont know if its because we're two gringos or if its the name tags but we're like magnets. they all feel so comfortable to share their crazy beliefs with us. were getting better at avoiding them. on friday night (since saturday night we were gonna be busy) we had hamburgers and the sister missionary's found rootbeer and made rootbeer floats. there weren't any fire works but it was still fun.

we've been really blessed with all the work we've had this week i just hope every thing keeps up.

this week was good. it got up to about 105 this week. sunblock, umbrellas and waters been getting us through. thankfully its only hot from 11 to 4 then its in the 90s.
on tuesday i went in splits with the leaders de zona. i was with elder Ramos in his area. their area is flat in the city. it was nice not to have to hike in a tie. he was really fun to work with. when we left the house to start working some members invited us to eat at this Mexican version of KFC. it was pretty sweet. then we had a lesson with a less active guy and his girl friend. they own a tattoo shop, we taught them there. They are both from the US but moved to La Paz. they spoke a lot of spanglish with me. it was a really awesome lesson, the brother has a desire to come back and his girl friend has awesome questions and accepts everything we taught. we had a pretty successful day.

on saturday the stake had an open house  and showed "meet the mormons". all the missionaries brought their investigators. this was the third time I've seen it in spanish. this time i pretty much understood all of it. the movies really powerful and our investigators really liked it. the members are awesome too, so after we saw meet the mormons one of my investigators said to thank you specifically for this sacrifice. she was really touched by the story of the mom . i hate / love watching that part cuz it also reminds me of you. all the missionarys get a little teary eyed when we watch that part. and so did my investigator. haha she told me she just wants to meet you and hug you haha  by the way we will be baptizing her in two weeks! love ya

hope you guys had an awesome week!
