alright so this week was interesting haha as always i guess.
on Wednesday we went to Culiacan because my comp had some immigration stuff. i had the awesome opportunity of getting up at 530 getting on a bus, got kicked off that bus because it was to full and im gringo, waited 20 mins and got another bus haha. its 3 hours to Culiacan and i tried to sleep but of course there was a baby on the bus screaming the whole way. thankfully my companion could sleep because he kept putting his head on my shoulder ( because i guess we're a couple now) after that we got to the mission office and my comp went with a bunch of other missionarys to immigration while i got to sit in the office for 3 and a half hours! it actually wasn't all bad because my awesome comp from the mtc was their too and we got to catch up, after that we headed back to Mazatlan and once we got their we had the worst Chinese food ever haha (fun fact i found 3 very long hairs!!! woooo) and then went to work for two hours. it was pretty fun, I'm actually starting to get excited for the crazy things to happen every day. on thurs day we decided to focus on two M.As or minos activos familys. one family lives in what is called the sectors but i like to call it the ghettos of the ghettos because its a very scary neighborhood, while we were walking i saw a dog sitting on a porch and didn't really think anything of it but when i walked passed it i heard it growl and as i looked down the dog was trying to bite my freaking leg!! i kicked at it and thankfully he didn't get any thing but part of my pants, after i kicked it we ran all the way to the familys house like two very frightened girls but thankfully the dog didn't follow us.
after that fun experience we actually had and awesome experience with the family, they just so happened to be painting their house and so we volunteered to paint for them. i found painting in dress clothes is very difficult but it was still very awesome. the color we used is basically fry sauce color which just got me hungry. after we were done we went to the second family this time with the bishop. the family is very weird , the husband is 43 and the wife is 24, and they have 3 kids 8 5 and 1 and their very nice people. in the middle of the lesson the wife found it a great opportunity to breast feed her child, if you want to destroy the spirit I'm pretty sure thats the best way. my comp seemed pretty cool with it but i guess i was not as cool cuz the husband asked why my face was so red, i just kinda gave him a "yo bein" and continued to stare at the floor till the horror was over haha. friday was a good day of proselyting and we got churros! members always buy us stuff and were always very gratefull for it. on saturday i woke up with a soar throat and my voice kept leaving me, but we helped out with a primarary activity, it was really fun they had the Olympics and me and my comp just herded little children around. on sunday i had no voice for most of church. after sacrament one very old gringo women came up and started talking to us. i told her where i was from and then she turned to my comp and asked him were he was from, i told her he didn't speak english so she for some reason started speaking very slowly to him haha i translated what she asked and he told her columbia and she asked me "oh what part of mexico is that?" so i just told her the southern part hahaha.
to day my zone thought it would be fun to wake up at 530 and go watch the sun rise on the beach, and it was not very fun haha all the elders fell asleep and the sisters took a thousand pictures of the sun. we just at carls jr and it was amazing!
Having an awesome time out here, we're pretty confidant we will have a baptism if not more in a couple of weeks! its weird seeing Christmas lights on palm trees but it gets me very excited for Christmas. hope every one back home is doing awesome! i feel lucky to have the gospel confirmed every time i testify of it, I've never felt the spirit like i have out here!
